The News and Research Automated Curation Project is an initiative that aims to gather, collect, process, and archive news articles related to race, immigration, and social justice. Covering news articles in both English and Spanish, the project seeks to understand how the topics that we work on are covered by different media outlets and how they are researched by the academic community. Using knowledge graphs, an algorithm sifts entities with selected keywords extracting all related news articles, including their metadata and clean text. Our databases are offered to faculty and students working on research papers or creative projects. Dr. Diego Bonilla is the lead of the News and Research Automated Curation Project, and can be contacted at diego at csus.edu for any inquiries.
