Land Acknowledgement. Whose land are you on?

Sacramento State is mindful in acknowledging that the land our campus is on today, was and continues to be occupied by the indigenous people of this area, the Miwok, Maidu, and Nisenan. Recognizing their culture that is rich with spiritual ties, to the land and waters that resonate with their traditions. We are humbled and take this opportunity to thank and honor those indigenous people of this area. Sacramento State recognizes the importance of acknowledging the indigenous people of this area and ask that you consider your ancestors and your relationship to the land you are on.
